Queen Sheba’s rocked stages in 11 countries, a previous adjunct professor at Clark Atlanta & Southern New Hampshire University, and has been a Poet In Residence at the University of Illinois, Champagne Urbana.
A previous A-P-C-A ‘Performer of the Year’ nominee has performed at 300+ colleges & universities, domestic and abroad, as seen on Married to Medicine, Verses & Flow, The Apollo, Live Nation, and Dj’d for Bravo & the Georgia Department of Health state PREP tour, to name a few.
Sheba is a two-time NAACP Image Award nominee, Creative Loafing’s People’s Choice Spoken Word Artist of the Year, and the recipient of the City of Atlanta, PATREON & Furious Flower artist grants.
Her 10th album, Civil WRITES: The South Got Something to Say, earned her back-to-back Grammy nominations — making her the first woman and only Atlanta-based poet to do so.
Her newest release, A Hurricane in Heels: Healed People Don’t Act Like This, pairs with her highly anticipated poetry collection, Clemency, edited by award-winning poets Richard Garcia, Amira Sims, Claudia Rankine and Ada Limón. The book explores healing, forgiveness, and emotional survival through unflinching truth and poetic craft.
Queen Sheba is the Founder of Poetry vs. Hip-Hop, the acclaimed touring stage show, and production company (Est. Sept 29, 2015/JUNE 2016), which has given away almost a million dollars in its tenure, producing shows in over 25 cities and is currently touring City Winery and other major venues across the country.
